SGR welcomes DG John Redd for his first of 46 club visits. Join us on Monday, August 7 when we will meet and hear his messages relating to this year's plans for D5420.  So, why not bring a friend,
neighbor or co-worker?

Ideas needed for National Day of Service
During the week of the September 11th National Day of Service, Rotary clubs around the district – including SGR – are asked to partner with JustServe.org for a “service above self” project of any kind and with any other non-profit or government organization.

So, club members, do you have a connection to or interest in a non-profit in need of our help?  Is there something in your neighborhood – like the firepit at Vernon Worthen Park - in need of a little TLC from SGR?

Please reach out to Service Chair Reed Noble with any idea you might have as we remember the 2002 attack on America.
Governor Redd has asked 9 members
to represent SGR at the Gala.  Will you join us for the fashion, food, fellowship and fun?

You're invited ... SG Sunrise "Evening of Elegance"
Eight members of SGR are invited to share a table FREE-of-charge to attend St. George Sunrise Club's "Evening of Elegance" on Saturday, August 19

A cash bar and a silent auction will kick off the event at 5:30 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 1731 S. Convention Center Drive.  At 7 p.m. dinner will be served followed by a live auction.

Dressy dress to formal attire.
Work on the restoration of the firepit in the NE corner of Vernon Worthen Park is proceeding nicely. The big equipment is no longer at the site, but there is still yellow tape and orange cones.

A beautiful new updated plaque is ready for placement below the 1948 plaque on the front of the firepit and a re-dedication event, including a potluck lunch (like Rotarians would have enjoyed back in 1948) has been scheduled on Monday, August 21.  Watch for more information.

It's now less than seven weeks to SGR's 9th Annual Golf Tournament
The date has been set (Thursday, September 21).  The location has been reserved (Sunbrook Golf Course).  A chairman is in place (Chris Parker) ... and this year's goal is $15,000!

To reach this lofty goal the committee, including Dave Watson, Paul Tikalsky, Ed Sappington and Rob Nodine, needs your help to find teams (as many to 25), hole sponsors (up to 18), giveaway items and anything else needed to make this the very best golf tournament in SGR history.

See a committee member for more information or to contribute your time, talents or money!
The total cases of wild polio since NYD 2023 - anywhere in the world - is still holding steady at 6 (1 in Afghanistan and 5 in Pakistan) but don't be fooled into believing this terrible disease has been eradicated because it is still very much a threat to the children of the world.

PLEASE help us achieve RI's goal of ZERO by joining the Polio Plus Society at just $8.50 per month until polio is - finally and forever - eradicated from the earth, 'cause this fight isn't over til its over!
