It's almost fall in St. George ... and there's lots going on!
September, October, November, December means Huntsman World Senior Games, St. George Marathon, Ironman 70.3 World Championship, Jubilee of Trees ... and more!

Your community ... and SGR needs you, your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers to man (and woman) these HUGE events.

Our next 5th Monday service will be on August 29 when we will be at the Utah Food Bank.  11:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.  Box lunches will be ready for you!

On Wednesday, September 28, 11,000 welcome bags need to be stuffed for senior athletes in town to participate in 45 events in the Huntsman World Senior Games.

On Saturday, October 1, SGR has adopted Aid Station #18 (near the exit to The Ledges) for athletes participating in the St. George Marathon.

On October 28 and 29, the Ironman 70.3 World Championship will be back and needs LOTS of volunteers.

It's tentative at the moment, but we are hoping our 5th Monday service on October 31 will be planting a tree in honor of Rotarian and former WashCo Commissioner Dean Cox at the new Washington County Courthouse.

On Tuesday, November 22, we are considering taking on the assignment to help with take down of the 39th annual Jubilee of Trees at the Dixie Center.

In December (no date set yet) we will be taking Christmas to 110 children in Halchita on the SE side of the state.

Many of these events are still in the planning stage, but please keep checking your calendar and consider when you can help our community with one or more of these events ... and keep saving your grocery bags!

This is the busiest season of the year!  Clipboards will be circulating for the next several weeks.
Please save your grocery bags for a March service project
It may see like a very long time to save grocery bags, but in March we will be doing a fun - and important - "service above self" project and we need you, your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers ... and 1000 grocery bags to make at least 3 sleeping mats for homeless in our community.

Please start saving TODAY.  If you already have a bunch taking up space in your pantry at home, please bring them to Rotary on any Monday from now until March.

Books needed for the Children's Museum Lending Library
The St. George Children's Museum, once again, needs new or gently loved children's books for their Lending Library (please noter, they have more than enough chapter books).

Since this is one of SGR's 3 "service above self" projects, and if you are able to do so, please purchase one or more books for newborn to 6th graders and beyond ... or sort through and donate books your children have already enjoyed but may have outgrown.

Your support is important to help make sure children in our community can read!
For the cost of one movie ticket or a latte from Starbucks, you can stop the wild polio virus in its tracks for children around the world.  See a member of SGR's Foundation Committee for more information on how to join the PolioPlus Society for just $8.50 PER MONTH / $100 annually!!!
