"Your Rotary Club is one GREAT organization!!!" wrote Randy S. on Nextdoor.com in response to the
Cookies w/ Candidates posting.

St. George Rotary Club once again invites the voting public to take part in a “Cookies with Candidates” evening designed to encourage community engagement in local politics.  The free event begins at 7 p.m. on Monday, October 14 at the Best Western Abbey Inn at 1129 S. Bluff Street.

This informal gathering promises an opportunity for residents to interact with this year’s list of candidates including Adam Snow and Chuck Goode, competitors in the race for a seat on the Washington County Commission; Ryan Sullivan, running unopposed for Washington County Clerk/Auditor, as well as Tom Durrant, candidate for Washington County Assessor and David Whitehead for Washington County Treasurer.

Please invite / inform your neighbors and co-workers.

"It looks like the good Lord took everything left over from the creation, dumped it (at Black Desert Golf Resort), then set it on fire."

Thanks to everyone who signed up ... and also showed up .... to help flag cars into parking spaces on the unpaved and unstriped parking lots at Black Desert Golf Course. This spectacular course, carved into our beautiful red rock desert and ancient lava beds was the site for the PGA tournament held in Utah during the week of October 7 - 13.

Some were only able to make time for one shift ... some came numerous times but every 4-hour shift was appreciated.

Thank goodness October only comes once a year!

There is no way to put a positive spin on this week's report of four new cases of wild polio with paralysis diagnosed in Pakistan. This brings the worldwide total to 50 so far in 2024.

But currently, only 53.3% of the world's 1.4 million Rotarians are giving to the eradication of polio, RI's most important "service above self" project.

Please won't you join the Polio Plus Society by committing just $8.50 a month or $100 a year until the wild polio virus is finally and forever eradicated?  It can't happen unless we all jump into the fight!!!
