District Training Assembly
SGR board members ... mark your calendar for the online District Training Assembly - including break out sessions for your club assignment - on Saturday, April 22 at 9 a.m.

Can you help us prepare for the fair?
The WashCo Fair will be held on the weekend of April 20-22 and we need your help as we prepare to talk about Rotary ... and polio ... and sell oranges.

How can you help?  First, we still need volunteers in our booth.  We need one each on April 20 from 7-10 pm; Friday, April 21 from 2-4:30 pm and 4:30 - 7 p.m. and two are needed from 7 - 10 pm.

On Saturday, we need two each for the 4 -7 pm and the 7 - 10 pm shifts.

What else do we need?  We are looking for someone to transport the iron lung trailer down from Cedar City to the fair grounds on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 19.

And we are looking for a canopy to shade us if we decide to move outside.

Anyone?  Anyone?  Anyone?
District Conference kicks off with the annual District Meeting
The annual Business Meeting will kick off District Conference 2022-23 at the Midvalley Performing Arts Center at 2525 Taylorsville Blvd., in Taylorsville at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 4.

This important - but usually succinct meeting - will feature a discussion, clarification and voting on proposed resolutions to D5420's Memorandum of Procedures (lovingly known as the District MOP).

There are currently two resolutions up for consideration. One is from the Rotary Club of Brigham City and the second is from the Governor's Advisory Board, both which will soon be forwarded to delegates.

Who should attend?  Delegates from each club in the district.  Who are your delegates?  It might be the same ones who served in this capacity for the recent selection of DGND Suzanne Leonelli (St. George Sunrise Rotary) or we can select other club members ... it's up to us to decide who will represent our club.

Watch for more information about District Conference coming soon.
Register TODAY for District Conference
And, while we're talking about District Conference, please register TODAY at https://www.5420dc.org.  Early bird registration is $185 per person until April 13.  From April 14, the cost is $200 per person.  For spouses attending the dinner only, the cost is $75.
Beans, rice and vitamins for Guatemala
Along with smoke inhalation, malnutrition is a huge health problem in the "stunningly beautiful and stunningly poor" country of Guatemala.

If you aren't traveling to Central America with Dan, Chris, Dave and Bryan in May - even if you are - you are encouraged to donate toward the purchase of beans, rice and vitamins to be distributed to those Mayan villagers we will be serving.

How much you'd like to donate is your decision, but the need is great.  See Dan if you have questions or Collin to donate.
In the 1950's and 60's more than 350,000 kids were diagnosed every year with polio, but as of Monday, March 27, 2023, we have now gone 25 weeks without a single case ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD so we are still holding at
30 cases in the past year!

You can help us achieve RI's goal of ZERO by joining the Polio Plus Society at just $8.50 per month until polio is - finally and forever - eradicated from the earth, cause this fight isn't over til its over!
