NO LUNCH MEETING ON MONDAY, JULY 1 ... but mark your calendar instead for our Officer Installation Party at 6 p.m. to celebrate Bryan Thiriot's success as club president in RY2023-24 and pass the baton to incoming President Dave Prisbrey (RY2024-25).
The evening is certain to be lots of FUNNN at former member Lynn Beecher's cabin, located at 250 S. 420 East in cool(er) Pine Valley (follow the signs ... turn left at the white chapel, then right at 400 East).
It will be a potluck dinner with the main course provided by the club. Those with surnames beginning with A-H are asked to bring salads, beans or another side dish of your choice. Those whose last names begin with I-R should plan to bring a dessert to share and those whose names begin with S-Z, please bring drinks.
Come early to enjoy Pine Valley State Park's walking trails, fishing or maybe just find a shady spot to take a nap. If you've never been there, you might also enjoy a tour of the beautiful pioneer-era Pine Valley Chapel.
For more information, ask a member of the "Is It FUNNN" Committee.
From left: Incoming President Dave Prisbrey, twice President Dale Desmond, and past President Ken Sizemore celebrating his 70th birthday were the three fearless Rotarians who, on Saturday, June 22, 2024, jumped from a plane at 14,000 feet above the red rock desert to draw awareness of the world's ongoing fight to eradicate polio once and forever!!!
It was a hot summer morning when Toby asked, "Should friends let friends skydive?"
"There was that moment when I wondered what I was doing, but I'd do it again!"
Celebrating his 70th with Barbara holding her breath and a 2nd great-grand as a witness

Last week there 2 cases of wild polio with paralysis were diagnosed - this week another one - bringing the worldwide total to 11 in 2024 (compared to 6 at this time in 2023) ... 6 in Afghanistan and 5 in Pakistan!
Currently, just 53.3% of 1.4 million Rotarians and Rotaractors give to PolioPlus.
Imagine how much more we could do to eradicate polio if 73.3% ... or 93.3% joined the Polio Plus Society at a cost of just $8.50 a month or gave an annual donation of $100 until the wild polio virus is finally and forever eradicated.
