On Monday, June 22 we will NOT meet at the Abbey Inn.  Instead, SGR will gather - under the direction of our own Major Bob Schmig - at the home of the Salvation Army at 568 W. Telegraph in Washington City where we will participate in a workday as our last "service above self" project of RY2025-26. Pizza will be waiting when you arrive at 11:47 a.m.  Feel free to bring a friend, neighbor or co-worker!

David Shostak signed up for the Lego Derby at the St. George Children's Museum last Saturday wondering what was ahead of him in what was described to be "noisy, chaotic fun."  But, even though not yet inducted as a member of SGR, David reports, "I had a great time. I served as the chief inspector for the cars the kids built, making sure each one met the proper design rules for racing and the wheels turned, LOL.

Welcome to Rotary, David (green shirt!).

See more about the Lego Derby on SGR's Facebook page.

There will be NO LUNCH MEETING on Monday, June 29, as SGR celebrates the many successes and fun we've had under the leadership of President LaRene Cox in RY2025-26 and inducts new club officers, including incoming President Kolby Traveller.  Please join us at the St. George Social Hall (on the corner of Main Street and 200 North (aka 212 N. Main across from the St. George Post Office) beginning at 6 p.m.

SGR will provide the main course and members are asked to bring a favorite potluck side dish (i.e., salad, dessert, drinks or "other" such as beans, bread, etc.)

Throughout the evening, we will enjoy entertainment, a review of RY2025-26, recognize some of our members with very special awards and introduce the RI President's theme for RY2026-27.

Please mark your calendar (don’t forget to tell your +1 who is also invited) and join us for the fun!  Don’t miss this memorable evening!  Questions?  See a member of the “Is It FUNNN?” committee or the board!

Utah Rotary's Suzanne Wilhelm began her year as District Governor with two very ambitious goals for D5420: (1) the creation of an Endowment-SHARE in the amount of $10,000,000; and (2) increase Utah Rotary's net membership to 200 members by June 30, 2026.

See next week's newsletter to see how she fared in accomplishing her goals!

RI President Olayinka (Yinka) Hakeem Babalola, a member of the Rotary Club of Trans Amadi, Nigeria, has selected this as his THEME for RY2026-27.

It's a horrifying truth for two little Afghai girls who, this week, were diagnosed with wild-polio caused paralysis bringing our worldwide case total of 9.

This year, please join the PolioPlus Society at a cost of just $8.50 PER MONTH - or an annual donation of $100 to save children around the world from this dreaded disease.

FMI, contact Foundation Chair Dave Prisbrey or Club Treasurer Collin Davis to make your wishes known!
