Monday is DG Jose's official visit
Please join your fellow club members for DG Jose Velasco's official visit to SGR in 2022-23, which is certain to be a FUNNN, FUNNN, FUNNN!

Please wear - or bring - something reminiscent of Mexico.

Come prepared to take part in a "flash mob" singing of "La Bamba" led by our own Loriana.

And, if you are a member of either board (club or foundation), please plan to attend a short face-to-face meeting with DG Jose immediately following lunch.
Oh, happy day.  We can now pay with Venmo!
Be advised, you can now pay "happy dollars" and other payments to SGR by Venmo to @stgeorgeUTRotary

See Club Treasurer Collin with any questions you may have about this new payment option.
Welcome bags assembly project signals the start of The Games
No matter which shift you sign up for, to assemble Welcome Bags for the Huntsman World Senior Games, you are invited to lunch (before or after your shift) on Wednesday, September 28 at noon at the Dixie Center / Greater Zion Convention Center.

Please remember to wear comfortable walking shoes for those never-ending turns around the table ... and your Rotary t-shirt. Meet us in the Garden Room where you will also receive a HWSG's t-shirt.

Let the FUNNN begin!
Housing needed for BYU students
A few BYU students coming to St. George to help with health screening during the Huntsman World Senior Games, still needs beds and access to a hot shower on the nights of Oct. 4-6 ... and maybe Oct. 7 (the first week) and/or during the nights of Oct.11-13.

There is no requirement to feed the students (unless you can't help yourself) or drive them anywhere (they will have their own transportation).

If you can accept this very enjoyable assignment, please contact Linda as soon as possible.
Aide station #18 needs your help
On the morning of Saturday, October 1, SGR has signed up to oversee Aide Station #18, located on the race route near the Hwy. 18 offramp to The Ledges.  We need to be there at 6 a.m. because there will be a HARD shutdown of the highway at 6:30 a.m. We will spend the morning cheering the runners, handing out water and fruit … and managing any simple injuries (blisters, etc.).

Reed Noble, the guy-in-charge, still needs the following:

another 10 volunteers
*  4 long tables
*  2-3 shade canopies
*  knives to cut up fruit for the runners.

Breakfast will be served to all volunteers.

Any questions, text or talk to Reed.
Bring your grocery bags to Rotary
Thanks to Nick and Lois, we are halfway to enough grocery bags to make the first of three sleeping mats for homeless in our community.

But, to make 3 sleeping mats we're going to need 1000 grocery bags  (don't worry, we have until March).

More to come on this important "service above self" project but in the meantime, keep saving your grocery bags and bringing them to Rotary.
On the weekend of Nov. 10-12, Salt Lake City will see its largest gathering of Rotarians since the 2007 RI Convention when members from 30 districts in the Western U.S. and Canada travel to Utah.  Join us on the "Trail to Peace" at the Zone 26/27 Institute where we'll Imagine Rotary in a peaceful world!
