Meet new member Rob Nodine
Meet Rob Nodine (as in “leaving the kitchen without having eaten”), being inducted on Monday, March 6, 2023 as SGR’s newest member. A full-time resident of Pine Valley – making him Brad Stucki’s neighbor - Rob is most recently from Northern Nevada.
In St. George, he works as a loan officer at Heritage Reverse Mortgage but, in his spare time, he enjoys fishing, hunting, golf and spending time with family, including wife Summer and any or all of their 4 young adult daughters who live in Phoenix, Flagstaff, Boise and Eugene, Oregon.
We look forward to getting better acquainted with our newest Rotarian. Let’s all introduce ourselves, answer his questions and, in every way, make him feel welcome.
Retired banker / financial manager, golf fanatic, lover of "service above self" and formerly of St George Sunrise Rotary, is SGR's newest member.
This native son of Ririe, ID - Linda's husband and father to six Sappington offspring - probably won't be a good attender since he golfs every Monday. But he can be counted on to faithfully serve on a committee and show up for service projects ... unless these events should happen to fall on Thursday when he is also golfing.
Past Rotary President Shekar Mehta said the best way to grow Rotary is "each one, bring one" ... so
Again this year, SGR is selling sweet, delicious, thin-skinned, easy-to-peel California ORANGES. However, there are 3 changes to this fundraising event from previous years:
The per case price has gone up to $52 … due to California’s extended drought – followed by excessive rainfall - and the nation’s current rate of inflation (and no doubt the huge loss of orange crops in Florida this year).
Last year we had two cycles of orange sales selling 233 cases.This year we’re going to take this show on the road for our 2nd sell cycle at the Washington County Fair (April 20-22).
We have reserved the district’s iron lung to display along with information about polio eradication through Polio Plus and SGR’s Guatemala stoves project … both recipients of our funds raised.
We will also have applications and information about Rotary for those who might be interested in our causes and in getting involved!
If you have sold oranges in prior years, your list of past buyers is available by request, but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE sell ORANGES in support of our Guatemala stoves project, dictionaries, and Polio Plus!
Cost this year is $52 for a full case, $28 for a half case or $15 for a quarter case. The deadline to order isMarch 13for the first cycle with ORANGES delivered the following week.
