This first Monday of the New Year will include SGR's board meeting(s) beginning at 10:45 a.m. If you have anything for the agenda, please text it to Linda and please arrive at the Abbey Inn on time, since - as always - there is much to discuss.
The tradition of setting New Year resolutions gives us the opportunity to reflect on ways we can improve ourselves and, as Rotarians, ways in which we can individually help Rotary make a bigger impact on our community and the world. Here are some suggested resolutions for members of St. George Rotary in 2026:
* Be a more involved member by increasing attendance, volunteering for a "service above self" project (or 2, 3, 4) and/or actively participating as a member of a committee.
* Show up when you sign-up!
* Invite one or more of your neighbors / friends to join us for lunch to find answers to the question of "what's Rotary?"
* Become a Sustaining Member for $100 annually ... or join thePolioPlus Society for $8.50 per month
* Help us plant 250 trees in Pine Valley OR build a stove in Guatemala and/OR decorate the 2026 Rotary float for next year's Pasadena Rose Parade.
We rang the bell for the Salvation Army, celebrated Christmas together with a wild and "crazy fun" party and - with Rotarians from both SGR and SG Sunrise - rang in the New Year at the SG Children's Museum's balloon drop at noon on Wednesday, December 31- so our partying is over for another year ... right?
Not quite! In RY2025-26, SGR has had 4 socials toward President LaRene's goal of 5 (or more) in her year. When is the next one, you may ask? The answer is Monday, January 26 when SGR will celebrate 95 years of doing good in the world. This special birthday party will include a little history, a few recognitions, certainly a surprise or two, and a whole lot of laughter. You won't want to miss it because it is certain to be memorable!
SGR's "Is It FUNNN?" Committee will be planning additional frivolity in the 2nd half of RY2025-26 so watch for more information.

SG Rotarian Randy Gordon loves the people and the red hills of southern Utah. In fact, he tells his California friends, he and Nancy spend half of their year in “God’s country.” So of course, he needed to have a Utah license plate to reflect his affection for his new hometown. He notes, “look what I got for Christmas, and it only cost $35 which is revenue for Utah Rotary’s youth programs. But, since we were limited to just 5 characters with the Rotary logo, this is what I got!”
